Relationship, Commitment, and Stone Soup:
Rockin' a Movement Together

This fall, Allies for Racial Equity moves into new ways of being in relationship together: among our members, with our accountability partners, and at our annual conference! Together with our conference hosts at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Atlanta, we invite you to join us in building new relationships, deepening our commitment to the work, and having faith that what we collectively bring to the table crafts the “stone soup” to nurture and sustain the growing movement for racial justice in Unitarian Universalism.

Through a serendipitous convergence of opportunities, this convening offers an impressive line-up already! On the first day of the conference, join us for evening programming featuring Reggie Harris and Greg Greenway’s “Deeper than the Skin,” part concert, part storytelling, and all about bridge-building.

On Saturday, we are preparing a full day of movement-building workshops with Chris Crass and others to meet you where you are and equip you to take the next steps. Saturday evening we will be graced with the embodied storytelling of Soulprint Players, an InterPlay performance ensemble that uses improvisational forms to create dance, song, and story in the moment. InterPlay performance is a vehicle for group exploration of themes both difficult and sublime.

But that’s not all! We also have a full day of events on Sunday featuring Chris Crass in morning worship and an afternoon workshop on non-violent direct action. Sunday events also include a workshop by Atlanta InterPlay on improvisational movement, “Using Body Wisdom to Cultivate Just Communities”.

Come, rock a movement with us!

P.S. Our conference hotel is close enough to offer free shuttle service to/from MARTA and to/from UUCA. Check out all accommodations options.
